Who We Are

What We Hold

Rights are not granted by government. They are endowed by our Creator and they descend to the people. Government sits below the people, holding only the powers the people delegated to it — and the people may recall them.

There is one Nevada Assembly. Its authority resides in the assembled people. Those who hold office here carry a responsibility to represent — not ownership of anything.

Why We Assemble

We are here to evaluate the natural and original condition of a Republican form of government in these United States — and to lead by example in standing one back up.

That form of government is not something this Assembly invented, and it is not a preference. It is a guarantee written into the Constitution itself.

How We Work

Our work is to know what that form of government actually is, where it came from, and what it requires of the people who live under it.

We go to the foundational documents themselves: the Organic Laws, the founders in their own words, the common law, and the record of the Republic. We read them rather than reading about them.

And we exercise the rights we were endowed with — assembling, speaking, and governing ourselves — in the lawful and peaceful manner the original founding contemplated. A Republican form of government is not a theory to be admired at a distance. It is something people either do or fail to do. We would rather be the example than the argument.

The standard we hold ourselves to is the prudent man standard: would a reasonable and prudent person, reading the same primary sources we read, arrive at the same conclusion? If a claim needs a leap past what the record supports, we flag it and we don’t use it.

Where this Assembly has not settled a question, we say nothing rather than guess. When something we have carried does not survive contact with the primary sources, we take it out and go do the research.

How We Meet

The Assembly meets at 6:00 PM on Wednesdays, online.

• First Wednesday — Business Assembly. Members.
• Second Wednesday — Jural Assembly. Members. The jury pool and the lawful courts.
• Third Wednesday — Militia Assembly. Members. Peaceful, non-aggressive, and answerable to the assembled people.
• Fourth Wednesday — General Assembly. Open to the public. No membership required, and nothing is asked of you for attending.

The work between meetings happens in committee. Every position is filled voluntarily — nobody doing Assembly work is paid, including the people who chair committees. If you are interested in committee work and want to help, start here: Committees.
