Committees
The committee work is where self-governance actually happens. An assembly that only meets is a discussion group. An assembly that does the work is a government.
Below are the committees currently standing on Nevada, what each one does, and what each one needs. Every position is a voluntary official — no one on this Assembly is paid, including the people who chair.
We are building this. We would rather tell you plainly where we are thin than present a list of committees that exist only on paper.
Guidelines, Processes & Procedures (GPP)
GPP develops and maintains the guidelines, procedures, and processes by which The Nevada Assembly conducts its business — how the assembled people meet, deliberate, decide, and record what they have decided.
Sound procedure is what separates an assembly from a crowd. This is the committee that does that work, and it is currently our most active.
What this committee needs: participants. If you have experience with meeting procedure, bylaws, or process design, this committee will use it.
Oversight
Oversight reviews how Assembly business is conducted and how Assembly duties are performed, and reports back to the assembled people. Its purpose is accountability inward — the Assembly holding itself to its own standards.
What this committee needs: participants, and a chair. The seat is open.
Banking & Treasury
Banking & Treasury administers The Nevada Assembly’s own account and financial records, and reports to the assembled people.
This committee handles the Assembly’s funds and nothing else. It does not advise members on personal banking, and it is not a route into any outside banking or investment program.
What this committee needs: a chair. The committee has a Treasurer and several participants, and no one in the chair. If you have done this kind of work, this seat is open right now.
Information Technology
IT maintains the Assembly’s digital infrastructure — this website, Assembly email, and the systems by which members actually receive Assembly communications.
What this committee needs: participants with practical skills. There is real work here and a small number of people doing it.
Vetting
Vetting confirms the standing of members and of candidates for Assembly office. Confirmation by this committee is what establishes that an official was properly elected and is properly seated.

Where We Need People Most
These are our current gaps. They are not ceremonial:
- Chair — Banking & Treasury. The committee is running without one.
- Chair pro tem — General Assembly. Vacant.
- Records. We need a designated records person. An assembly that does not keep its own record cannot prove what it did.
- Chair — Oversight. The seat is open.
You do not need to have done this before. If you have never chaired anything in your life and you are willing to learn, say so — we support new chairs. That support is the point. Nobody here started out knowing how to do this.
